Ans (a) Swadeshi Movement.
In the modern history of India, Surat Spilt is an important event that occurred in 1907 when moderates separated from extremists. The split in the INC was due to many reasons.
The moderates had controlled Congress from its very beginning and had their own way of thinking and doing, which were not acceptable to extremists. The younger generations were impatient with the speed at which the moderates were moving and leading the Congress. This was the time of the Swadeshi Movement.
Swadeshi Movement was the result of the partition of Bengal. The Movement aimed at self-reliance, self-determination, and self-help.
